The inspiration behind this packaging is the romance involved in the winemaking process; specifically storing and aging in oak barrels. The transferring of wine creates a beautiful wine-stained belt that is "emblazoned" on the center of the barrels. The initial launch of this wine was the varietal Pinot Noir. In order to set this product apart from the competition, the wine was packaged in non-traditional Bordeaux style bottles. I had the opportunity to take part in several aspects of this brand launch including: conceptualization, naming, identity and branding, package design, point-of-sale (POS) materials and copywriting. Blazon became an instant success in the winery's tasting room as well as with distributors and retail locations showing increases year over year in price and volume.
